In addition to that, if you are happen to be interested in Neuroscience and Informatics the International Neuroinformatics Coordinating Facility (INCF) also got accepted as a organization (Thanks Raphael!). Among other very interesting project ideas there are also two proposals that are Gnome related (as in pygtk based applications).
